Spring Bestie

I mentioned in an earlier post that we are getting tons of rain here in Northern California and it's still raining.  I love all the rain, not only because we really need it, but it somehow inspires me to be creative.  Maybe it's the feeling that I have to get as much crafting in as I can now, before the weather warms up and everyone wants to be outside.  Anyway, on to the important things...

I decided to try something different today, I hope you like it.  I found this adorable image at Sherri Baldy Designs.  She has quite the collection of images, so be prepared to be amazed!!!  It's taken me close to an hour to get this post entered because I got sidetracked looking at all the new digi's ;)  Omgosh!!!!

Happy Birthday Monkey

Happy Sunday!!!  My Sunday morning started off with my 5 year old sweetie waking me up to tell me her tummy was hurting.  I have learned from experience that usually when she wakes me up with tummy problems, I know I'm in for it.  I prepared myself with a bucket, a towel, paper towels, and kleenex.  I won't go into the yucky details, but it wasn't pretty, but she is feeling much better.  Anyhow, I decided that since I was up nice and early, I may as well have some fun.  I put this card together for my nephew who will be turning 19 years old at the end of the month.  It's pretty unbelievable how fast they grow up.

This adorable image is called "Critter Balloons - Monkey" and it can be found at Bugaboo Stamps.  They have designed this image using several different animals i.e. mouse, elephant, dog, cat, bunny, and a bear.  And...most likely, I will end up needing them all ;)

Diaper Cake

Hello again!!!  My little sister's baby shower was on Saturday and while I loved being able to have the special event at my house, I am extremely happy that it is off my plate.  It went very well and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to meet and visit with some wonderful ladies.  For many years now, I have been making diaper cakes for all the baby showers I attend.  This is not the best picture, but I thought I'd share the diaper cake I made for my sister's shower.  They are so easy and fun to make and a great gift for the new mommy.  I went a little overboard on the "filling", but I think it
turned out okay, even with my 5 year old helping me.

My crafting space is in our dining room and was a complete mess before the shower.  I like to get my stuff out and not put it away because I know that I will be using it later.  I shoved everything I could in the cabinets to hide it all from the guests.  Guess what I did on Saturday night after everyone left?  I cleaned and organized all my craft belongings.  I'm not saying it's perfect and I probably still won't be able to find what I'm looking for, but it does make me feel better when I open up the cabinet doors and everything looks like it belongs in that spot.
Anyway...I guess I can say that the baby shower was a complete success!!!!
Now, I need to get back to coloring those adorable little bunnies!!!

Bunnies Bunnies Everywhere

For The Love Of Bunnies

For the love of Bunnies...I am in love with this image!!!
I have 3 holland lop bunnies that I raised from babies, so I am quite fond of bunnies.  They are so much fun to watch when they are hopping around, but mine are very tame & love to be cuddled too.
Please forgive me if I go on bunny overload ;)
This is another image from Bugaboo Stamps called "Bunny and Chick Topper".

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to my wonderful husband of 9 amazing years!!!
I try to make all of my cards and felt like I needed to try something different this time around.  I struggled with putting this one together.  I have an assortment of these precious doilies and have never used them because I'm just unsure of how to use them on my cards.
I truly am just a simple country girl!!!
I decided to use this sweet stamp from The Greeting Farm called "50s Sweetheart".

Baby Shower Ellie

Hello everyone...The project I have for you today is a pocket card that I made into an invitation.  I have been hard at work for the past couple of days creating baby shower invitations for my little sister's baby shower and this is what I came up with.  My sister is doing an elephant theme in the baby's room, so I thought this image from Stamposaurus was perfect for the occasion.  I colored the image with Copics and the patterned paper is from Doodlebug.  Love, love, love Doodlebug!!!  I really could have left the image off, the paper is so stinkin' adorable.  Anyway, I am pretty exhausted after putting 21 of these little cuties together, but really happy with how they turned out.

Happy Birthday Eric

I made this card for my nephews 21st birthday.  This little mouse digi stamp is another adorable and fun image to color from Bugaboo Stamps.

Wild Thing, You Make My Heart Sing

Bugaboo Stamps is killing me with all the cute elephant digi's.  I can't wait to send these out to my nieces and nephews for Valentine's Day!!!

Edward Elephant Birthday

I bought this digi stamp from Bugaboo Stamps the other day and I am addicted.  It's called "Edward Elephant - Present" and as you can see I want to color it in all different colors.  These are just a couple of cards that I've created with this digi.

Just another thing to love about this image...you can use it for girls or boys.  I always struggle to find a card in my stash that I can send to a boy/man.  Lets just face it...I love pink  & ribbon & sparkles, so naturally my cards are going to reflect that.  This image makes it so easy to do both!!!

Just Getting Started

I've been wanting to start a blog for a while now and just wasn't sure how to go about it.  I am not very creative when it comes to stuff like this and frankly, coming up with a name for my blog was very frustrating (I'm still not 100% sure I love it).  Anyway, I'm not exactly sure what got me started with crafting, but it seems I can remember long ago making birthday cards using stickers.  Then, several years ago, I talked my husband into buying me a cricut machine.  I started searching the internet for tutorials and inspiration.  I found blog after blog with everything I could ever hope for in the crafting world.  To this day, I still follow some of those blogs that got me started.  As most crafters know, it didn't take long and I had every empty space in my small house filled with crafting supplies.  And then, there were Copics and Digi Stamps!!!  A few years ago as I was hopping from blog to blog, I discovered Copic markers & digi stamps.  Oh boy!!!!  Was I in trouble!!!  I started my collection of Copic markers with colors that I thought were pretty.  If you know anything about Copic markers, you know that the letters & numbers on the markers actually mean something and the blender pen is actually not for blending.  I finally figured it out with the help of countless blogs and youtube videos.  I have taken a couple of Copic coloring classes at the local stamping stores, but I don't know if I will ever consider myself anything but a beginner.  Practice, practice, practice is definitely the key!!!  I get discouraged (usually when trying to color hair) and put all my crafting supplies away and then several months go by and I get the itch and haul it all back out again.  I don't have a craft room, but more of a shared space with the formal dining room.  I keep my Copics on the top tier of a three tiered Ikea rolling cart.  I couldn't live without that cart.  It also houses card bases, envelopes, stamps, embellishments, 6x6 paper, my ATG guns, other adhesives, punches, etc etc.
Well...I sincerely hope that I haven't bored you to death, if anyone will actually read this.
Bye for now!!!
